Situated on the coast, Sussex Inlet village is actually an island, which forms part of the Inlet to St Georges Basin from Wreck Bay in the Tasman Sea. The Island is connected by two bridges and there is only one road into the village which is a leisurely 15 minute drive from the Princes Highway. The road to Sussex Inlet is well signposted on the highway and is named the Sussex Inlet Road. Sussex Inlet District comprises the villages of Sussex Inlet, South Sussex, Berrara, Cudmirrah, Swanhaven and Badgee.

For fun on the water, hire boats, kayaks or stand-up paddle boards, you can also hire fishing rods and bicycles. The great year-round fishing that’s available in the basin, inlet and ocean is celebrated at the Sussex Inlet Annual Family Fishing Carnival in July. The entrance to Sussex Inlet is made up of little beaches, with excellent surfing spots nearby. You can learn to surf or go bushwalking and cycling in the neighbouring Conjola National Park.

A wonderful coastal escape, Sussex Inlet is around three hours’ drive south from Sydney or east from Canberra. You’ll find a range of accommodation options that suit various budgets, including motels, caravan parks and holiday homes. Many offer enchanting water views or even a jetty in the backyard.
